Mode 1 this mode connects the shift position with automatic door locking but notably not unlocking.
Shifting does not lock doors.

Turn the ignition from the 3 on to the 1 off lock position.
Close all doors below door switch off 2.
Step 2 mode 2 cancels the automatic locking and unlocking function so that they do not operate at any time.

It has power door locks that engage automagically at 10mph or so.
